The MP40 airsoft gun by AGM is an electric replica inspired by the German MP40 submachine gun from the World War II era. This oxidized version with brown grip panels combines historical MP40 styling, metal and steel construction elements, and a modified V3 gearbox with reinforced internal components.

MP40 airsoft gun construction

The oxidized version features a dark finish combined with brown grip panels, emphasizing the historical character of the design and visually distinguishing this variant.

Metal components include the flange nut securing the outer barrel, charging handle, central pistol grip components with an integrated trigger guard, trigger, folding stock arms, and sights.

The outer barrel, upper receiver, stock buttplate, front sight hood, and magazine are made of steel. This combination increases the proportion of metal components in the construction and supports a more realistic feel during handling.

The airsoft gun weighs ~2916 g without the magazine. Its length is ~840 mm with the stock unfolded and ~610 mm with the stock folded. The folding stock allows the overall dimensions to be reduced for transport and use in confined spaces.

Ergonomics and handling

The safety takes the form of a switch located in the pistol grip. This arrangement makes it easier to operate the safety without altering the classic appearance of the airsoft gun.

The charging handle also serves as the fire selector. To switch from semi-automatic to full-automatic fire, it must be pulled into the rear position.

V3 gearbox and mechanics

The airsoft gun is equipped with a modified V3 gearbox. Reinforced metal gears and a reinforced piston head are used inside the mechanism.

The electric drive system allows the airsoft gun to be used during standard airsoft games while retaining a form inspired by its historical counterpart.

Steel 120-round magazine
