Thompson Submachine Gun

Seen use by the marine corps, the USPIS, and the Irish Republican Army, the Thompson submachine was designed by Brigadier General John T. Thompson during world war I.

Although its design was only finalized by the time WWI was over, due to its reliability and lightweight design, it saw widespread use in the Banana Wars, WWII, and many conflicts all around the world, and it remained in service up until the 1970s, seeing use for more than 4 decades.
