Here is my review of using the replica after one year (both in the garden and airsoftfield)
Short review:
-----------------
+looks and feels nice
+you can go full CQB like our grandparents did in ww2 with it
+it sure is an eye catching
+easy to dissasamble and clean it
=90% close to the real deal, if you are obsessed with guns and annoy your brother with gun facts (like me :D) you may or may not be a huge fan
=performance is ok, not great or bad but ok
=low power, need upgreat in order to use it effectively for long range
-you may have issues with firing the gun (see detail below for more), as long you hold it steady and straight it works
-hard to load especially with gloves (again more details below)
-may be dangerous when stored or given to persons that don't know how to hold it safely
My rate 7/10, is decent, could be better
Looong review:
------------------
Unboxing:
-In the box, you get the Kar98k and a 25 round magazine (we will get back to that), that is all
First looks:
-Rifle looks and feels in great in hands, having around 3kgs with real wood and steel/aluminum parts, feels solid and balanced in hands.
-The replica is however not 100% close to the real version, one of the give it away is the front band (the very thing that holds and locks the barrel with the stock in the front) is much shorter than the original which is wider, the model itself is close to the 1941 version but with later added front sight shield to prevent it from being damaged, but that's a very common look and version of the rifle, other than that is very close to the real one.
Test fire:
-The rifle uses 25 round AEG like magazine, to load it inside, you will have to look down on the magazine floor plate, there is a button at the end in the same side the trigger guard is, pull the button towards the front side and let it open, inside you push the magazine in the hole infront of the barrel, careful you need to place it straight other wise it may go upwords and not work.
-The rifle is already set to fire, all you need to do is lift the bolt and pull it til the end, not too hard or you may break it one day, after push it back, make sure the bolt goes all the way done, otherwise it wouldn't fire.
-The trigger feels relatively hard with long pull, similar to it's original, after firing repeat the process for the next shot
Safety switch:
-One thing I forgot to mention is the way the safety works as not working like the original.
-The switch can be found at the back of the bolt, Left is Fire, middle is Trigger lock but free to action the bolt, Right is the same BUT doesn't not lock the bolt like the real version, just locks the trigger.
-In order to use the safety, you either: need to charge the bolt, or just lift the bolt up and down. Both ways pull the "cocking piece" ready (you COULD pull the piece with your hand, not recommanded), after that you can use switch the safety, I prefer the second method personally.
Magazine and SAFETY problems:
-The magazine is easy to load with bbs, you just need 6 time to press (assuming the speedloader loads 4 bbs at once) to have 24 bbs, you can add one more bb to have 25.
-Easy to store and care more of them and relatively cheap (that is if you still find them on stock)
-BUT there are few problems, first the loading process, is not the tipical "press button take mag and insert different one, as I said earlier, you need to open the floor plate and insert the mag in the hole, which makes it harder to load, but is a bolt action so I guess.. is not really that bad..
-Second it is if you are using full gloves, you can't press the button of the floor plate, but here's a method, get the next mag, use the hook that is present at the end of the mag, put the hook into the gap the button has, pull and then drag the plate, with practice it should be more easier, I used to do this in winter time, you can also use the mag to press on the button to remove the mag and drag it out for the next one.
-Third is storage, problem is this works like an AEG magazine, meanthing you have about 3-4 bbs in the chamber, since the mechanims pretty much loads the bbs by being pushed by the next ones, this can be dangerous if you want to store and someone grabs it, because you can load by accident the remaining bbs. To solve this you have two ways (next line).
-To eliminate the remaning bbs you will have to lower the barrel to the ground and shake the gun, smaking it can also help lol, and do this til you removed all the bbs (3-4 of them).
-Another way to make sure you don't accidentally shot someone or something is by using the safety (follow how to use the safety from the "Safety Switch" last part)
Technical part:
-It waights around 3 kgs, 3.5-4 kgs if you add a sling and the ZF39 scope from the same company (I will make a review for it another time).
-Mine fires with 1 joule with 0.20 bbs, I am not sure if I made a mistake from the options before buying but anyway, saw some upgreat parts you could get for it but I have yet to upgreat mine.
-the best I saw is using with 0.25 or 0.28 bbs, due to the power it has, you can always go CQB with it like germans did in ww2 lol
-the hopup when I got it was all the way open, I was wondering why the bbs fall from the barrel, after a bit of adjusment it started to hold the bbs and fire well. I can reach up to 30m with 0.25, when it comes to be consistent.
1 Year of use:
-I've use in winter, spring and on airsoft field, it worked well, til now more recently...
-the bolt doesn't seam to go well all the way in, you may need to smack it a little at the end to be able to fire (the gun has been cleaned same issue)
-The outer barrel seams to move a little.. not to the point of wabble, but rather moving the front sight a bit to the right, making it a bit inaccurate, my guess you could use tape underneath it or.. like I did uhmm.. push it to the left.. maybe is also because I once hit in to a wall but I am not 100% sure
-it may and may not fire, sometimes, which is bad. as long you don't lift the barrel up, you are somehow fine.
Finall thoughts:
-The rifle is not great but also not terrible.
-You would probably take the rifle for looks, which in my case it did, many wanted to see and try the rifle, while it was annoying I also like to see players try something new, some even considered buying it as well
I rate it 7/10

Stockosan a fegyver;
+ jól néz ki
... ennyi xd.

Odpowiedź sklepu:Bought it for its look and to occasionally shoot it in my garden and I am quite disappointed by its performance.
First, the pros :
- Nice looking gun.
- Good quality materials used for the externals.
- No play / nice fitting of the externals.
- Very well made disassembly / reassembly video available on YouTube thanks to Taiwangun, a really nice step-by-step tutorial that helps a lot.
Don't know what to say :
- No sling included in the package (well, at least you know it before buying it).
- The proprietary scope for this gun is rather expensive (same remark).
- Spare magazines not easily available.
Cons :
- My replica does not feed properly (I have to rack the bolt back, flip the replica upside down, load a BB into the chamber and then flip it back to be 90% sure a BB was actually chambered). I tried different mags and had the very same issue.
- The hop-up is extremely inconsistent. Sometimes it is clearly too present and the BB's start flying up and after a while, the BB's fall down as if there was no hop-up at all (without touching the adjustment screw!).
- I have very recently decided to upgrade it anyway (piston, spring and spring guide) and have noticed that ALL the screws of my replica were loose ! All of them ! One thread was also (and still is) damaged... This upgrade of course did not change anything to the misfeed issue nor to the hop-up inconsistency ; I will soon replace the hop-up rubber too and see what happens.
Conclusion :
Despite its great look & finish, I could definitely not recommend buying it, especially if you want to shoot it ! I saw quite a few positive reviews before I bought it so I guess it is bad luck but now you know.
Dear Sir, if you are facing such problems with the replica, we strongly recommend that you contact our techs via filling out the claim form here - https://www.taiwangun.com/claims.html There is clearly something wrong with your replica, and our techs should have a look at it. -

Very authentic replica, looks very nice. The scope you can get for this rifle is very useful, but a bit expensive. You can easilly find tuning items for it, and can be compatible with VSR spring, piston, spring guide. I bought a Begadi tuning kit for it.
I really love it, so much fun to play with it. Everybody wanna take a look at it -

A szállítás és a csomagolás rendben volt. A fegyver karcmentesen érkezett.

I've been on the hunt for a reliable, year-round skirmishable Kar98k for a while now. In my opinion after having owned and upgraded two of the Snow Wolf SW022 Kar98k replicas as well as the spring Tanaka Kar98k "air", this model is the best option. I Installed a Slong 70 degree Vsr10 bucking and Vsr10 PDI piston sear, the PDI trigger sear would not work with the spring guide stopper. The replica comes with a steel pinned cylinder and a decent 6.03 bridged Vsr10 inner barrel. As always I cleaned and greased the internals with some TechT GunSav and dry lube on the outside of the cylinder. I did wrap the threads on the cylinder head with teflon tape to help with the air seal. Be sure to apply a little blue loctite to the hop up adjustment screw as it does have a slight amount of play in it. I'd advise watching the disassembly video from taiwangun before taking it apart, as I almost stripped one of the screws reassembling it incorrectly...

A good KAR98 replica. The wood is good and the metal as well. However out-of-the-box the bolt was a bit hard to push back into the forward position (maybe the reciever screw is too tight or it just needs some lubrication). Also, the bolt handle seems to me a bit thinn (compared to the first S&T KAR version or the Double Bell version). Also, the mag floor door is a bit hard to open, but nothing serious (some practice needed). Out-of-the-box it was shooting with 1J with a little hop set. The best feature is the hop-up. It's a TDC; a small screw underneath the rear sight leaf; nicely hidden and hard to knock out of possition.. In my oppinion the best KAR98 replica for playing.

This gun is an almost excellent replica of the real Kar98k. The real wood and metal makes it pleasant to hold it and shoot with it, gives it a sturdy feeling.
I used it with heavier BB-s at the gun was precise and always shoots where you aim.
Sadly it does not come with a leather sling which is a shame but it could be easily remedied if you have a hunter or a gun store in your city where you can buy a sling for it, I did just that and it made the gun look much better and easier to carry while on the field.
The safety mechanism is the exact same as on the real weapon which was a pleasant surprise.
Another remarkable feature is the firing pin. When you pull back the bolt the firing pin also moves back, and stays pulled up. When you pull the trigger the firing pin moves back to its original position making it look like the real one when it fires.
All in all I'm very satisfied with the gun. It's real beauty and fun to shoot with. -

Beautiful solid wood stock, not a dent or ding in it. A smooth and powerful bolt. Would definitely buy again! Plays like a dream, just wish I had a sling for it. The sights are clear but hard to use in darkness.

I ordered a S&T Mauser Kar98k replica from Airsoft Taiwan. After I placed the order and sent a photo of my NABV card (which is required in my country the Netherlands to own a Airsoft replica) everything went smooth and the order was shipped really quickly. I got it within a week and asked for my item to be packaged discretely which they did. For the replica itself it is an excellent copy of the ww2 version of the gun, it feels great in my hands. I rather would have one with ejecting shells, but that is not practical on the Airsoft field. The gun is made of wood and metal and has a nice finish. The bolt action is a little stif, so it needs a little bit of lubricant but after it is so satisfying to use, I would recommend this replica and AirsoftTaiwan very much.

First of all the appearance and the feel of this K98 is good because of the real wood with it's nice finish, when you buy the scope and scope mount it just looks amazing, but... The performance is kind of bad the action is hard to pull even though it isn't a hard spring, tuning turns out to be also very tricky because many tuning parts are not compatible with the system which is sad.
This thing is more like a collectors, or wall hanger piece in my opinion.

On the outside this is an amazing replica in my opinion. Good quality wooden body and also good quality outer metal parts. Out of the box it shoots pretty good. Needs greasing because moving parts were dry. Do not expect anything more than a standard rifle. Internals needs to be upgraded if you want to use it as a sniper. Hop-up is surprisingly good.

Erősen ajánlott rá a hozzá gyártott, korhű ZF39 távcső. Falra kitéve a lakás éke lesz!

Purchased this last week. The packaging was weak the presentation box damaged.
The rifle was not damaged. But what I received was Substandard. Overall appearance was unsatisfactory. The finish on the exterior metal parts was dull and worn and distressed not new black and shiny like in the taiwangun video or online pictures. The magazine cover is very loose and wobbly. Flimsy. Though the wood stock is nice the overall impression is this rifle was either a used return or, it was a demo, or they are sending out their poor quality stock to those that don't ask for a " double-check" during the ordering process. Furthermore. If I want to now return it. The return cost is on me to ship it back to Poland and then taiwangun charges a restocking fee so i loose more money.
So it appears taiwangun can and have sent me an unsatisfactory product. Now I have Two options.
1. Keep the rifle they sent to me flaws and all.
2. returning it at my expense and having to pay a restocking fee.
And how much is it to return ship this to Poland anyway?
This is not good business. No airsoft dealer here in the U.S. would do that.
So BEWARE, when doing business with this company. You will get what they send you,
like it, or it will cost you to return it.
Instead of taiwangun doing the right thing to begin with.
Sending out a product they can be proud of.
And using better packaging by double boxing and protecting the presentation box from damage. They should have pride in their products and their companies reputation.
I did file a complaint. It's been a week. Still waiting to see if taiwangun is true to their customer satisfaction guarantee. -

My purchase arrived last week.
The presentation box was poorly packaged and the presentation box had several holes top and bottom and looks and feels worn.
Its not like when you go into a store and buy one for sure.
The rifle I received did not have the nice finish as in the advertisements. The bolt, bolt block, barrel finish was not at all black and shiny. But looked distressed. To be honest it looks like a re issued product. A return or
re-manufactured one.
The magazine cover is loose and flimsy. Not a tight fit.
On a good note: the wood stock is beautiful and when I test fired it, it hits hard enough for me.
I'm not sure how taiwangun will honor their customer satisfaction guarantee. I hope they do.
I just expect when I buy something expensive that I receive what I have seen and what I asked for nothing more.
They suppose to reputable. We shall see.
I shall keep you posted. -

Historical War Replicas — Check out the other products in the series
The S&T within the Kar98k model impeccably replicates the Kar98K firearm. The Karabiner 98 kurz (German: "carbine 98 short"), often abbreviated as Kar98k or K98k and at times erroneously referred to as the K98 (which was a Polish carbine), is a bolt-action rifle chambered for the 7.9257mm Mauser cartridge. It was adopted on June 21, 1935, as the standard service rifle for the German Wehrmacht. It stands as one of the final iterations in a long lineage of military Mauser rifles. Despite being supplemented by semi-automatic and fully automatic rifles during World War II, it remained the primary German service rifle until the war's conclusion in 1945. Many were seized by the Soviets towards the end of World War II and widely distributed as military aid. Consequently, the 98k carbine continues to appear in conflicts globally, being drawn from storage during combat situations.
