Short, Magazine-loaded Lee-Enfield

An evolution of the earlier Lee–Metford, the Lee-Enfield, also known as SMLE, became instantly popular due to its more ergonomic design, faster rate of fire, and easier production. It was the primary weapon of the British military during World War 1, and it remained in widespread use well past World War 2 up until the 60s, a restatement to both its quality and popularity.
