      The performance is perfect! Quick trigger reaction, great precision on mid-range, wonderful mobility (low weight -> quick movements). The only part that doesn’t look good is the magazine feed/lock mechanism, I think that solution is not so good, easy to break, and the straight mag can fall out easily by shaking the weapon itself. Overall the weapon is outstanding!

      #1-the nozzle did NOT have an Oring like previous Platinum models iv experienced.

      #2-the actual mag catch piece on these is a tiny piece that interacts with the mags of about an 1/8" or less, terrible design and the only replacement is if you buy the whole lower.... Which does wear down with METAL mags.

      #3-CYMA brand 50rd mags did not lock in......as well as other mp5 mags i had laying around, so stick to the new polymer mags if you don't want to go modifying things for mags to lock in.

      Other than that, FANTASTIC gun, takes regular m4 hopups, the receivers break down so easily without having to remove ambi controls or the mag release system to get gearbox out.

      She RIPS! Just like CYMA Platinum's do, and the accuracy is rather amazing for the pdw version with a ~4" barrel haha

      Everything felt of quality and solid when handling, no jiggles or loose fitting parts.

      Worth the price on this one overall!

The AR-9 airsoft replica from the 106 series by CYMA, developed in cooperation with TAIWANGUN.COM, is a compact AEG rifle in the E-EDITION & HIGH-SPEED configuration. The model combines aluminum construction of the main external components, a rate of fire of ~25 RPS, and a V2 gearbox with a QSC quick spring change system, 13:1 gear ratio, and MOSFET/ETU.

Construction and design

The upper receiver, lower receiver, stock guide, outer barrel and its components, fire selector, bolt catch, magazine catch, trigger, charging handle, and sights are made of aluminum alloys. The pistol grip is made of polymer.

The replica features a lightweight 5-inch aluminum outer barrel and a 5.4-inch M-LOK handguard. A Picatinny rail on the upper receiver allows compatible accessories to be mounted.

The barrel is fitted with a flash hider mounted on a 14 mm CCW thread. The construction is completed by folding sights and an ambidextrous rear sling attachment point.

Each replica features an individually laser-marked serial number.

Ergonomics and operation

The model is equipped with a 6-position PDW stock, allowing the overall length of the replica to be adjusted. Installing the battery inside the stock requires fitting and tightening the included stock guide extension.

The AR-9 uses an ambidextrous 45/90-degree fire selector, allowing operation from either side of the replica.

Internal components and mechanism

The replica uses a V2 gearbox with a QSC (Quick Spring Change) system. The system allows the spring to be replaced without fully disassembling the gearbox, making it easier to change the mechanical configuration.

The mechanism features steel gears with a 13:1 gear ratio mounted on 8 mm steel ball bearings and a piston with full steel teeth.

The pneumatic system includes an aluminum bearing-mounted piston head and a double-sealed aluminum cylinder head. The construction is completed by a bearing-mounted spring guide and a high-speed motor.

Electronic system

The E-EDITION & HIGH-SPEED configuration is equipped with an electronic control system with MOSFET/ETU. Combined with the high-speed motor and 13:1 gears, the system supports fast cycling and responsive trigger operation.

Performance and precision

The factory muzzle velocity is ~330 FPS. With a suitable LiPo battery, the model reaches a rate of fire of ~25 RPS.

The replica is equipped with a 6.03 mm inner barrel.
