SVD Airsoft Bolt Action Sniper Rifle - Plastic Wood Version [AGM]

This AGM SVD Bolt Action has quickly become my favorite platform for long-range airsoft play—and honestly, it’s one of the most satisfying “out-of-the-box” experiences I’ve had with any airsoft replica.

At first, I was a bit skeptical about the plastic wood furniture, but once I had it in hand, my doubts disappeared. The finish looks surprisingly authentic especially from a distance or in-game photos. It strikes a great balance between visual realism and manageable weight. Combined with the metal barrel and receiver, the rifle feels substantial and durable. Even during games, I’ve received plenty of compliments from other players and teams about how it looks on the field.

Before taking it out, I used Taiwangun’s muzzle velocity upgrade service, bringing the rifle up to 480 FPS. Honestly out-of-the-box accuracy was outstanding. There was no horizontal deviation at all - only simple vertical adjustment was needed.

I started by zeroing the iron sights on its Max elevation at around 60m, using 0.40 bbs, and was able to consistently hit a 20x20 cm metal plate. That’s before even adding any optics.

After mounting a PCS 3–9x40E scope, things only got better. The added magnification lets me track BB flight paths throughout their trajectory, making follow-up shots far easier. I'm already planning to switch to 0.43 bbs for pushing my effective range beyond 70m +.

One thing to mention - this is a right-handed bolt action, so fast cycling between shots takes some practice and strength. It’s definitely part of the bolt sniper experience, but something new users should be aware of. After a few sessions, it became part of the muscle memory and now it just adds to the fun.

The approx 30-round magazine capacity is the biggest limitation for longer games. Also, I found out the hard way that aftermarket SVD magazines from other brands don’t fit, so you’ll want to stock up on compatible spare mags if you’re planning extended skirmishes.
