I too give this 4.5 starts. I do not understand why the displeasure for this. It really is quite a nice sight.

I will address two "issues" right off the bat. First, the parallax "issue" some may find with this are people who need glasses to use this. This is not an issue with the optic itself but with its operator. If you wear prescription glasses regularly (in other words you do not have 20/20 vision) then you need to wear them or use contacts when looking through this sight. That also means it is a red dot not holo sight so magnifiers will magnify the red dot itself.

Second, the coating and lens glare "issue." All optics have coatings to protect the glass lenses. This is a no brainer in the real steel world. In fact it is addressed by sniper forces and airsofters alike. To solve this, you just need a killflash lens. JJ Airsoft makes one that uses elastics and the product page has a video installation guide. Product ID is JA-5090-BK. I, however, recommend taking the upper housing (it can be done with an Allen key) over the lenses off and then install the killflash to keep the elastics protected. But to each their own preference.

      BATTERY INSTALLATION:
      1. To take the cover off lift the lever up and to the forward position. Pull the cover off.
      2. With the sight replica facing "downrange" put the right battery in (+) first and the left battery in (-) first.
      3. Take the cover with the lever forward and set it over the locking nub on the sight so it sits flat. Press it in towards the sight while keeping some downward pressure and lock it in.
      4. To turn it on hit the "Arrow Up" button. To turn it off hit the "Arrow Up" and "Arrow Down" buttons simultaneously. "NV" sometimes will turn the optic on or off but it really is to activate a standby mode.

Now that is out of the way, pros and cons.

      Pros
      - Build quality is great for the price
      - I mounted this on a CM.106 (with some effort) and it fits solid. It might need some filing down on the mount locks.
      - High rise for easier aim. For indoor wearing a mask I will have a better time aiming down the sight.
      - AAA batteries are a plus. I read not to use rechareable batteries due to the lower voltage that is below this replica's required amount.
      - Killflash fits great on this. JA-5090-BK is one that I got because it was the only once in stock at the time of my purchase and this review.
      - You can use a plastic protective lens by Big Dragon on this too. Product ID: BD1456. It is a snug fit. I may not end up using this myself as I prefer the killflash, but again "to each their own."

      Cons
      - There are no battery installation guides or tips included (see above for help).
      - The batteries are a bit of a pain to get installed. But I think the springs inside have too much spring (or outward force if you will) but after some time they will break in and the battery installation will be smoother.
      - If you are not careful, the wire leads on the inside of the battery cover will fall out and with it the lever and small pin keeping the lever in place. It is a pain to get it back together but once it is it will stay in place. You can super glue the small plastic plate holding the wire leads back in place if you so desire. I may have made it easier to install my batteries because this happened but it is hard to tell.

See another review from 2022 by Sieba who gives the operation guide. I just hit pressed a bunch of buttons to turn it on or off.

Works... finally. After I had to take a (tiny) metal file too it.

Had to take away some material from the front QD anchor point, before it would close properly.

After that - due to the absence of a manual - all that was left, was flipping batteries round and round to figure out the correct orientation.

Other than that, the thing works.

Works well. Very poorly fits on Arcturus AR15 standard RIS system. Battery also hardly fits and need to be pushed with force to close it. No information included how to put batteries. Overall not fit for quality price ratio.

So, this product doesn't quite hit the mark, especially considering the price. The coating is a real issue—it amplifies glare, especially in indoor settings with ambient lighting. Even moderate lighting makes the red dot nearly unusable due to the blinding effect caused by the coating.

The parallax deviation is another major drawback, reaching levels that can only be described as excessive. Additionally, the attachment mechanism to Picatinny rails lacks the necessary tightness, resulting in an annoying rattle during use. These factors significantly compromise the product's performance and usability.

Despite these drawbacks, there are a few commendable aspects. The all-metal build imparts a sense of durability, albeit at the expense of added weight. The use of easily accessible AAA batteries is a practical feature, and the controls are straightforward, contributing to a user-friendly experience.

In conclusion, while the red dot boasts a solid build, its critical flaws make it challenging to recommend, including problematic coating, parallax issues, and insecure attachment. For a reliable red dot, I recommend you find others without these issues.

Holographic Weapon Sight mod.3 - Black [PCS] is overall a very nice product with a nice touch of metal in its parts.

I have an issue when i get the batteries in and close the protecting cover, the handle of the cover comes up from the force of the batteries inside.

I can not recommend this product.
This is the second variant of these E-Otech clones I have purchased. This one takes AAA batteries and like the other one I have, the battery compartment is very awkward to close but the most anoying thing about them is the buttons. I initially thought the thing was DOA. but apparently, the buttons just need to be pressed just so. The other complaint is the sight sits loosely on the rail.

I give this 4.5 stars. Over all, this aiming device is pretty good. Almost no parallax of the reticle and easy controls, but it doesn't come with a instruction manual so here is some info.

      Instructions:

The batteries go in as: Hold the sight with the battery holes facing you and the glass on top, in the left hole, plus side goes first and in the right hole, minus side goes first.
To switch the optic on: first press the "arrow up" button, if the reticle is not visible press the “NV” button. The NV button is used to put the optic in "stand by modus". after 4 hours the optic will shut off automatically and you will have to use the "arrow up" button again to switch the optic on. To put the optic in OFF mode instead of the stand by modus: press the "arrow up" and "arrow down" button simultaneously. these buttons also adjust the brightness of the reticle. It also comes with the XPS3-4 reticle but with 3 dots instead of the circle dot as advertised in the pictures.

      Build quality:

The outside of the aiming device is made of aluminum for light weight but strong against impacts. The battery casing, and inside of the optic is made of plastic. The windage and leverage screws are made of metal and have a flat head screwdriver head. They also do not click in place, its rather a smooth turn. The quick detach optic mount is made of aluminum. It only fits on picatinny style rails securely. The arms are made of some kind of steel and feel kind of flimsy. They are strong and wont break but they are a bit awkward to work with. The buttons are made of rubber and do not click to make them silent. Definitely use a protective glass in front of this optic because the glass seems quite thin. The glass of the optic is quite reflective in dark environments that’s why its handy that you can use both eyes open with this optic.

      Extra info:

The reticle sits about 43mm above the top of the rail so using a magnification device is definitely possible. Just know that This is not an actual holographic sight, It’s a red dot that looks like a holographic sight. So the reticle will be magnified as well if you are using a magnifier. This is not a problem in airsoft at all but its something you should know. I also recommend using non-rechargeable batteries because they always have a voltage of 1.5V unlike the rechargeable batteries who have a voltage of 1.2V. The sight works with 3V so using rechargeable batteries makes the optic a bit unreliable.
