500rd Hi-Cap magazine for AK74/AK-105 - Black [CYMA]

the mag fits only with modification, i had to make the front side shorter because normally it doesn't fit for my rk74 cqb, but with this modification it fits perfectly and holds a lot of bb's. amazing product, i tried it also on an e&l ak74 and fits.

I was looking for a replacement magazine for my AK replica after it broke and I decided to try the "standard" of hi-cap magazines. This base Cyma magazine though really didn't disappoint!

Unboxing: the mag came with the standard Cyma "cartridge box" plastic-cardboard cover which both acts as packaging and instructions. Slide the cardboard, take out the magazine and you're ready to go! The magazine was also well protected thanks to TaiwanGun care in shipping.

Pros:

+Multi-material: even if the magazine is entirely made of black polymer, there are two metal rivets holding the magazine in place at the top and the base where the loading wheel sits is actually made of black painted metal, making it easier to spin the wheel and in case the magazine falls it should add a layer of protection.

+Spring tension: the wheel spins easily and is not painful to load. Once fully loaded I was able to shoot consistently around 90BBs reliably in a 25 RPS AK 0.25g, which is good considering the price point.

+Ease of use: while being pretty simple the plastic of the magazine isn't exactly as flat as I thought, a little roughness helps handling it with gloves and the fact that it has low details on the body makes it easier to extract from the pouches. About locking the mag, the rear lug is also sloped to facilitate the loading, release and overall longevity. That is good!

Cons:

-Tactile Feeling: when unloaded, tapping and handling the magazine generates a little more noise than I expected. It's possible to hear the wheel and the spring moving in place, also the walls of the magazine are a little too thin in my opinion, in fact it is possible to feel them bending a little when applying some force.

-Front lug: from my past experience, also the front lug would have benefitted from a little more slope or a different material (eg. metal) in order to withstand a little more force in case of an accidental collision when the magazine is locked in place. And it is not replaceable.

Final Overview.

Considering the price and performance of the magazine I am happy with my purchase. They work well, so 5 stars of course. These are very handy for casual games, or when lending my replica to other friends. I would totally recommend them for beginners too! And as their price isn't a big deal, even if they break because they are being mistreated that's not a big issue. Yet still, if you rely on them, treat them nice!

Tips.

Let it fire: when firing don't constantly spin the wheel, just let the spring do its job. When spinning the wheel it will click when it has reached full tension. Keeping the spring always tensioned can reduce the lifespan of the magazine. Keep in mind that these are not made to be repaired.

Identification: these are plain black, even if bulky, remember to put some kind of coloured tape or marking if you drop them or someone takes them by mistake to recognize your magazines.

Maintenance: silicone oil compatible with plastics and ALWAYS store them without BBs!

As usually the Cyma's mags are great. It fits for my Specna Arms AK-105 so I am satisfied with this product. It has big capacity and looks good. I can recommend this product.
