There is some some wobble when the magazine is properly seated, but that's to be expected as of all airsoft replica AKs. -

The material quality also seems good, but the first game will reveal how it performs in practice. -
- 30.06.2026 wrote:perfect for my cyma cm.053 its sturdy lightweight and holds a lot of bbs my only problem is that the curved and long shaoe makes it hard to put it in a standard tactical vest also its very drop proof as i jave accidentally dropped it on solid concrete and it only had some minor scratches on it, no internal problems or broken parts, it fits the cm.053 perfectly without wobble.

You could go with the metal style ak74 mags to prevent -

It has a durable design, dispenses BBs well, and is used in AK replicas from many different companies. I don't think a mags needs to know more than that.

The only solution so far to that seems to be to glue the cover on. None of my mags ever had such an issue. We are sorry that you have encountered such issues. Please contact our techs directly via email service [at] taiwangun.com - maybe there is another way to repair it to your satisfaction.

Hibátlanul működik. Jó ár érték arány. Teljesen fém ház realisztikusabb tapintást biztosít. Megéri ráfizetni azt a plusz pár eurot, egy műanyag kivitelhez képest. -

Feeds flawlessly and it actually fits in the mag well better than magazines that originally came with the replica! Bought 5 for an excellent price. Will buy more in the future if needed! Although I suspect these will last me a long while yet!

- 04.08.2025 wrote:The CYMA CM.040 is a full-length AK74-style AEG that offers impressive build quality and performance for its price range. The receiver, dust cover, outer barrel, and sights are all made of metal, giving the replica a solid and realistic feel. The stock and handguard are made of durable polymer, with a slightly textured finish that improves grip.
Externally, the rifle looks very authentic, with accurate proportions and details that resemble a real AK74. The fire selector markings, rivet placement, and overall finish are well executed. In a proper loadout, it blends in perfectly for Russian or Eastern-style impressions.
The internals are what you would expect from CYMA’s better-quality line. The ver.3 gearbox comes pre-shimmed decently, and the compression parts are solid for stock use. I used a 7.4V LiPo battery and 0.25g BBs, and the rifle chronoed at around 390-395 FPS, which is perfect for outdoor skirmishes. The range is good — about 45–50 meters effective range with adjusted hop-up. Accuracy is consistent, and the hop-up unit held its setting throughout the day.
The trigger response is decent with the 7.4V LiPo, and the rate of fire is acceptable for most playstyles. The included hi-cap magazine fed reliably, though it had a little wobble in the magwell — nothing major, easily fixed with some tape or replaced with a mid-cap for better fit.
There are a few small downsides to note:
The battery space is limited, so you'll need slim stick-type batteries.
The fire selector is a bit stiff at first but loosens up with use.
It lacks modern features like rails or mounting options, but that's expected for a classic AK design.
Overall, the CM.040 is an excellent choice for players who want a traditional AK replica that performs reliably and looks great. It’s also a good platform for upgrades later on. Just remember that due to its realistic appearance and full size (around 94 cm), it should be stored and transported with care.
After using the CM.040 for a few games now, I feel more confident recommending it not just as a beginner-friendly replica, but also as a solid choice for intermediate players who appreciate realism and consistency.
One thing that stood out to me is the weight and balance. This gun feels solid, but it’s not overly heavy. The front end has a bit of heft, typical for AKs, but with a sling or proper stance, it becomes very manageable — even for longer matches. The folding stock is also very practical for transport or for playing in tighter areas like CQB zones, though the full-length barrel still makes it more suitable for outdoor use.
The iron sights are well aligned and usable out of the box — I didn’t need to make adjustments. I haven’t added optics yet, since the side rail mount wasn’t included, but I plan to install one later. If you’re going for a modern AK look, that’s something to consider.
I also want to mention durability. The replica handled minor bumps, kneeling drops, and sling stress without any signs of creaking or weakness. The paint finish didn’t scratch easily, and even after crawling and moving through rougher terrain, it still looks clean. That gives me confidence it will last through many more events.
One of the smaller touches I appreciated is how intuitive the disassembly is — field-stripping it for maintenance or cleaning is quite straightforward. The dust cover, bolt cover, and hop-up chamber are all easily accessible without tools.
I still recommend replacing the mag eventually, and maybe getting a battery extension mod if you want more space, but for its price, this replica overdelivers in multiple areas — feel, realism, and in-game performance. -

- 30.06.2025 wrote:Although they didn't fit in my E&L 702 custom, I believe it's not the mag's fault, but somehow my tech has put my hop up unit lower than usual because the problem was in a very specific spot that i cannot really explain
anyway, they work flawlessly after my modding to fit, as the should -
- 16.06.2025 wrote:The price is well justified. The magazines feel robust. I haven't had any problems with feeding so far. They attach nicely and don't wiggle around as much as some other magazines. The BB's inside don't shake around as much as well so that is a nice stealthy bonus.

Been using these for a couple of years NONE of them had misfeeds or incompatibility etc.
Used then on Cyma , Specna , E&L , Bolt replicas (some needed a bit of filling )
Chead , durable and lice looking ! there you have it -
- 03.01.2025 wrote:Does the job well enough. Feeds prefectly. There is a bit of side to side wobble as all other mags, but it is no problem for it to function correctly. Should have gotten more now that I think of it. Use it with a CYMA 0.40C

- 03.01.2025 wrote:The Cyma AK74/AK-105 mid-cap magazines are a great choice for players who prefer reliable feeding and a realistic look. I purchased three of them, and with minimal home modifications, they fit perfectly into my Cyma 040C. Once adjusted, they perform consistently and are an excellent value for their price. Highly recommended for anyone using compatible AK replicas!

- 25.12.2024 wrote:With this price point, I could say nothing bad. In most cases, it works pretty well. The magazine itself is lightweight and easy to carry. The overall quality is not as good as PTS magazine (much more expensive as well). When inserting CYMA AK, it has slight wobbling that could resolved by easily using electrical tape.

- 19.11.2024 wrote:These mags are incredibly light weight, but not to the point where it feels like a toy. It does, however, make me question its durability a bit. Though for the price you pay for each mag, I honestly cant complain. I just wish it would sit a bit more snug like their drum mags do but over all, it works nicely. You might have to put a bit of electrical take under the back catch if you want to use it with an AirTac adapter like I am.

- 25.06.2024 wrote:Another exelent replica from Cyma. This AK-74S is very well made. Steel parts are: flash hider, gas tube, reciever, top cover, rear sight, safety lever and the stock. The rest is some other metal. The top cover is fitted very tightly. The flash hider moves a bit, and the cleaning rod as well. And the stock also has some movement. It has a quick-change gearbox (for the spring), but you need to remove the gearbox from the rifle to replace the spring - but it's still a nice feature. The only negative is the magazine: the high cap is totaly plastic - the locking lips as well. So, be carefull with the mag.

Get them in bulk and stock up! Everytime I order at least $200 worth of stuff to justify the shipping cost, and its still cheaper than shops in the U.S.

It pleased me on my games so far and I have not spared it. Would recommend to sight/range it before first game and a lipo 7.4 (be sure to get a stick, the brick shaped ones don't fit).
Would recommend it as a first AK -

I bought three of these for my E&L AK-105.
Better than the oroginal mags for more more less money. Also fits perfectly for Cyma aks too. Feeds good. No wobble. Not fragile. Good texture not shiney.
Recommended for cyma and e&l replicas.
Thank you very much. -

- 17.04.2023 wrote:Lot of feeding issues whit these magazines...
the magazines did not feed, and if they did, they gave two bb's at once. The weapon was a Cyman AK47. A drum magazine has been used in the gun without any problems, so the problem is definitely in the magazines. -
- 12.04.2023 wrote:Short summary: must-have for an entry level magazine.
The magazine itself looks very real and is pleasant to hold in your hand. To my surprise, it was noticeably bigger, than an M4 mag. There aren't any bad seams or badly produced parts to it, everything is in it's place. I have used it already in a few games, and it's really sturdy and houses a *lot* of bbs. No malfunctions or misfeeds, all three magazines worked perfectly. On semi-auto fields it is almost not needed to reload more, than once per ten minutes of active gameplay, as it has half the capacity of a regular hi-cap mag. Another thing to note is that due to the curved shape of an AK mag it is tricky to get in a STANAG magazine pouch, but still possible.
Pros:
+ Good looks
+ Decent production quality
+ Very affordable price
+ Weight that balances perfectly with the manufacturer's guns
Cons:
- Is a little wobbly in a Cyma 048 (is fixable if tape is applied to inside of the gun itself)
In summary, I'd recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to spend much and still get a good magazine. -

On a note, it did fit snug in my LCT aks74u, tighter than the magazine it came with.
Must definitely buy more. -

- 17.01.2023 wrote:After filing the front lip fits in my Arcturus AT-AK04. It wobbles slightly, but less than the Fuxing 170rd mag and its not problematic. The only downside is that plastic is noticeably thinner than other mags, but its price is pretty low, so it makes sense.

- 12.12.2022 wrote:“It’s f-ing antiaircraft cannon, Vincent!”
Besides lines, it’s an awesome replica.
Heavy, but very solid.
Thanks a lot to Taiwangun Service for their availability to downgrade the replica to 310 fps on request just before sending it to deliver courier. Cyma mags (both midcaps and hicaps) perfectly fits with it. Smooth cocking handle. I just changed the nozzle with a 5KU DShK-like one for aesthetics purposes previously ordered on TWG, and it really looks like an anti-aircraft cannon. I’ve been advised specifically with CM.04x-series since they have VFC-based mechanics instead of TM-based such as .03x series is. Pretty solid, and fits both stick batteries and shorter squared-section batteries too. Bought on black friday. Interesting replica, with a lot of compatibility between most AKs (except AKSU but that’s a completely different body). -

I use the recommend .30g BBS. Great gun for my first air soft rifle!

- 24.06.2022 wrote:This gun is just amazing. The build is solid, but the weapon itself feels compact and not too heavy. The steel parts feel really nice on this one, I still need to get used to the polymer parts but those are also sturdy. The accuracy suprised me, the bullet spread is minimal, the gun shoots straight without any upgrades out of the box. Excellent replica for beginners and advanced airsoft players too, especially for this price, I definitely recommend for anyone.

- 24.06.2022 wrote:Construction is fenomenal with mostly metal and only some plastic ( handguard, pistol grip and such). Very nice to hold and it feels very
hefty and sturdy. Internals are very easily accessible
My only two gripes with it are :
- Most magazines wobble a lot , this did not have any effect on it feeding the BBs but takes a little bit out of the immersion factor.
- The folding stock is VERY stiff, it needs at least 20-30 open-close cycles for it to loosen up a little and be foldable with a normal amount of force.
All in all I am very happy with this replica and would recommend anyone give it a try. -

As always with cyma their magazines are cheap, reliable and rigid.
The only thing I can complain about is the weight, I would like for it to have a bit more heft to it, but I suppose that's more of a personal opinion. -

You get the cool AK74/5.45mm magazine look, but they are not made of durable material. They are cheap, you can really buy a good bulk of these and not care if they break or get lost in the heat of battle.Disadvantages:
Easy to change if you have spare magazine shells or highcaps you want to change to midcaps, just hammer out 2 pins and pull the whole inner magazine out, be in mind the bottom plate comes of too when doing this.Shells break with ease, i had one mag i tried to load but the front anchor broke off, i didn't even pry it in, just did a standard reload.
