The CM.098A GEN-2 rifle replica from CYMA Platinum is an electric AEG equipped with a V2 long gearbox and configured for semi-automatic fire. The model combines a GEN-2 gearbox, a metal construction with an M-LOK handguard, and a Kestrel V2 electronic system, creating a configuration intended for precise shooting at medium and longer ranges.

Construction and design

The replica is made of metal and features a polymer stock and pistol grip. An individual serial number is located on the lower receiver.

The aluminium M-LOK handguard allows compatible accessories to be installed. An upper RIS rail provides mounting space for optics and additional accessories.

The replica is equipped with polymer iron sights. A 14 mm CCW thread on the outer barrel allows a muzzle device using this standard to be installed.

Ergonomics and handling

The rifle operates exclusively in semi-automatic mode. The functional bolt catch provides easier access to the hop-up adjustment.

The battery compartment is located in the stock tube.

Internal parts and mechanics

The GEN-2 V2 long gearbox features a quick-change spring system that facilitates spring replacement. The mechanism uses SR25-standard steel gears mounted on 8 mm steel ball bearings.

The replica features a piston with full steel teeth, an aluminium piston head, and a steel bearing-mounted spring guide.

The rifle is powered by a neodymium high-torque motor.

Pneumatic system

The pneumatic system includes a full steel SR25 cylinder and an aluminium cylinder head. A 24.28 mm Teflon nozzle is also used.

The brass inner barrel is 405 mm long and has a diameter of 6.03 mm. The polymer rotary hop-up chamber allows the BB spin and flight path to be adjusted.

Electronic system

The replica uses a Kestrel V2 electronic system designed to operate with the extended V2 long gearbox. The electronic system controls the mechanism and supports a faster trigger response.

The factory muzzle velocity of the replica is ~490 FPS.
