Daniel Defense DD5 SBR GEN-2 airsoft rifle replica CYMA Platinum is an electric airsoft gun based on the licensed Daniel Defense DD5 SBR design, prepared for medium-range airsoft games. The rifle is equipped with the Eshooter Kestrel V2 ETU and a V2 long gearbox with a quick spring change system, supporting responsive replica operation, shot parameter configuration and power adjustment to game limits. The construction combines metal and polymer build with a faithful replica of the original firearm.

Construction and design

Daniel Defense DD5 SBR GEN-2 is a licensed airsoft rifle replica with markings placed on the upper receiver, lower receiver, charging handle assembly and handguard. The individual serial number is located on the left side of the lower receiver.

The replica uses licensed Daniel Defense components, including the Daniel Defense Linear Compensator, GRIP-N-RIP AR-10 Ambi Charging Handle, Daniel Defense stock and pistol grip with Soft Touch overmolding, Daniel Defense DD5 Rail 10.5 M-LOK handguard and Daniel Defense Mil-Spec trigger.

The construction is made of metal and polymer. Aluminum components include the front grip, compensator, upper receiver and lower receiver.

Ergonomics and handling

The polymer Daniel Defense stock and pistol grip with Soft Touch overmolding support a more secure grip on the replica during movement.

The Daniel Defense DD5 Rail 10.5 M-LOK handguard allows the configuration of mounting accessories in the M-LOK standard. The 14 mm CCW thread on the outer barrel enables the installation of compatible muzzle devices in the airsoft standard.

Internal parts and mechanics

The replica uses a V2 long gearbox equipped with steel SR25 gears, 8 mm ball bearings and a steel bearing spring guide. The quick spring change system makes it easier to adjust the replica configuration to different FPS limits without full gearbox disassembly.

The pneumatic system is based on an aluminum cylinder head, a steel full SR25 cylinder and a 24.28 mm Teflon nozzle. The piston with a full steel tooth rack and aluminum piston head supports consistent system operation during the firing cycle.

The drive system uses a long neodymium hi-torque motor. This configuration supports efficient mechanism operation with a spring matched to the factory power of the replica.

Electronic system

The model is equipped with the Eshooter Kestrel V2 system designed for configurations based on the V2 gearbox. The ETU allows replica operating parameters to be configured through the Eshooter App, including pre-cocking adjustment, trigger sensitivity, selector modes and rate of fire control.

Kestrel V2 also offers active brake, cycle detection, battery protection, Smart Fuse, sleep mode and firmware update capability through the app. Protective functions support control over the electrical system operation and help reduce the risk of overloading the electronics, motor and battery.

Performance and precision

The factory FPS of the replica is ~420 FPS. The brass inner barrel has a diameter of 6.03 mm and a length of 330 mm, supporting shot consistency.

The metal rotary hop-up chamber allows adjustment of BB backspin. This type of chamber makes it easier to precisely set the BB trajectory and adapt the replica to the BB weight used.

Power supply

The replica uses a T-connect plug, and the battery space is located in the stock tube.
