The tactical AKSU-style airsoft rifle from the CYMA Platinum series is an electric rifle with a compact design and a side-folding stock. The rifle features a GEN-2 V3 gearbox, Kestrel V3 MOSFET/ETU and QSC quick spring change system, supporting a fast operating cycle, electronic control of the mechanism and easier adjustment of the airsoft gun's power.

Construction and design

The airsoft gun is made of steel, aluminum and nylon. Its weight without a magazine is ~3050 g. The rifle measures 670 mm with the stock extended and 470 mm when folded.

The tactical design combines the handguard, gas tube cover, pistol grip, side-folding stock and receiver cover. The handguard and gas tube cover feature RIS rails for mounting additional equipment. The RIS rail on the receiver cover allows the installation of aiming devices, including red dot sights. A side rail located on the body supports the installation of compatible optics mounts. The design is completed by a steel mock muzzle device.

The outer barrel features 14 mm CCW and 24 mm CW threads, allowing the installation of compatible mock suppressors and tracer units. An individual serial number is located on the body of the airsoft gun.

Ergonomics and handling

The fire selector lever features an extended shelf, making it easier to change the firing mode without significantly shifting the hand from the pistol grip. The hop-up chamber can be accessed by pulling back the mock bolt carrier, allowing convenient adjustment of the BB spin.

The side-folding stock offers adjustable length, cheek riser position and buttpad position. The rubber buttpad improves contact with the shoulder, while sling attachment points located near the stock and gas block allow a tactical sling to be connected. Folding the stock reduces the rifle's overall length and makes it easier to handle in confined spaces.

Internal parts and mechanics

The GEN-2 V3 gearbox features a QSC quick spring change system. The mechanism uses CNC-machined gears with a 13:1 gear ratio in a short-stroke configuration, 8 mm ball bearings and a short neodymium high-torque motor.

The pneumatic system includes a piston with full metal teeth, a set of silent aluminum heads, a steel type 2 cylinder and a 19.58 mm Teflon nozzle with an O-ring. A steel bearing-mounted spring guide is also used.

Electronic system

The Kestrel V3 MOSFET/ETU electronically controls gearbox operation and supports a fast response of the mechanism when the trigger is pressed.

Performance and precision

The factory muzzle velocity in the Stock configuration is ~390 FPS, while the rate of fire is ~23 RPS. An optional power adjustment service can be purchased to adapt the airsoft gun's parameters to the user's requirements and game limits. Available options include the Medium configuration at ~350 FPS and the Low configuration at ~300 FPS.

The brass AEG inner barrel is 255 mm long and has a diameter of 6.03 mm. The metal AK-type hop-up chamber allows the BB spin to be adjusted to its weight, supporting a stable flight path.

Power supply

The battery compartment is located under the receiver cover. The airsoft gun uses a T-connect plug.
