Colt 610/GAU-5A/A GBBr Replica CGS - Black [EMG]

The GAU-5/A/A replica from the CGS Vietnam series is inspired by one of the most recognizable short CAR-15 variants used by US forces at the end of the Vietnam War. Developed from earlier XM177 designs, it was created as a compact weapon for units requiring greater mobility, including vehicle crews, air force personnel, and special forces units.

Historical note

The GAU-5/A/A variant equipped with a Single Point optic was used during the legendary Son Tay Raid, considered one of the first modern special operations.

High-level cooperation

The replica was developed through the cooperation of CYMA, T8 (SP System), and Taiwangun and uses the modern CGS gas system, ensuring realistic mechanism operation and a noticeable recoil effect typical of Gas Blowback constructions. At the same time, it retains the historical styling of Colt carbines from the late 1960s and early 1970s.

The external construction is made of high-quality aluminum alloy, while steel components are used in key areas to increase durability and wear resistance during intensive use.

Characteristic features of the GAU-5/A/A construction

The GAU-5/A/A is based on earlier CAR-15 variants and includes construction details characteristic of later AR-15 platform versions, such as a full fence type lower receiver.

A later upper receiver variant was also used, typical of designs developed from around 1967. Unlike standard M16 rifles, the GAU-5/A/A did not have a forward assist, which was typical for US Air Force variants.

One of its most recognizable elements is the flash moderator with a grenade ring, enabling the mounting of an XM148 or M203 grenade launcher. In the original weapon, it helped reduce muzzle flash and the perceived sound generated by the short barrel.

The replica also reproduces other characteristic details: a round forged upper, front sight base without a bayonet lug, front sling mount attached with a spring roll pin, and delta ring handguard mounting, which replaced the earlier slip ring used in older AR platform variants.

The construction also keeps the proper styling of the bolt carrier group, with a graphite-gray-black bolt carrier characteristic of later CAR-15 versions from the final period of the Vietnam War.

The replica was manufactured under Colt Industries license, featuring authentic manufacturer markings and faithfully reproduced construction details of the Vietnam War-era CAR-15 platform. The external body is made of high-quality aluminum alloy, while steel elements in key areas significantly increase durability and resistance to intensive use.

Reinforced steel construction

To increase durability, the manufacturer used steel external components in the most stressed areas: muzzle device / moderator, forged front sight, bolt catch, magazine release, trigger, construction pins, magazine, and buffer tube nut. These components improve wear resistance and make the replica a solid base for further modifications and tuning.

Reliable internal system CYMA CGS (CYMA Gas System)

The GAU-5/A/A gas airsoft rifle uses the innovative CYMA CGS system, developed in cooperation with T8 (SP System). Inspired by the TM MWS M4/AR-15 gas rifle series, it offers realistic operation, strong performance, and an adjustable trigger for better tuning. For improved durability, CYMA used internal steel parts, including the bolt carrier, complete trigger group, and hammer.

The CGS (CYMA Gas System) series uses modern gas blowback rifle solutions. It is fully compatible with most standard TM MWS parts, making it an excellent base for further modifications. It provides reliability, efficiency, and a platform ready to use straight out of the box.
