I read the product description and they promised a lot of steel parts: receiver, front sight, bolt, rear sight and barrel shroud of which only the barrel shroud turned out to be steel.
Meanwhile, the website was quietly and stealthily corrected, stating that only the above-listed parts were made of stainless steel.
Even the barrel shroud was written as stainless steel!
I recommend they buy a magnet, that will not be mistaken!
Replacing the parts with steel cost me 280 dollars. So the price of the replica was not very cheap!
I also had additional costs because the rifle shot 415 fps instead of 380 fps, so I had to have it adjusted!
All they wrote to me in response to my complaint was to send it back at my own expense!
I cannot recommend the company to anyone!! I feel scammed. We are deeply sorry about this situation. The error resulted from a discrepancy between the materials used in the sample and those in the production model. These changes occurred without our knowledge, and as soon as we learned of them, we immediately changed the product description to avoid misleading future customers.
It's a pity you didn't contact us immediately after receiving the shipment. While we do not have the steel parts to replace your replica and make it match the description you provided when you placed your order, we may have been able to respond more effectively and remedy the situation.
We will contact the customer and attempt to clarify and resolve the situation. -

Interior: Very decent range, shoots slightly to the right, but you can get used to it. I would be interested in the real potential for upgrading, because although the manufacturer says that it is compatible with V2 gearbox parts, I would be interested in whether there is some atypical thing there (I am not a mechanic, so this is also a question). The biggest problem is the attachment of the bolt cover, which unfortunately is not a problem at all to break off, however, even without this the cover holds and does not slide on the rail on which it is held, but it is still an unpleasant detail.
Overall: given its performance, it is the king of the battlefield and despite its minor inconveniences, it is worth buying. -

Al principio se hace un poco pesada al ser madera pero cuando te acostumbras no lo notas.
100% recomendado si te gusta el estilo soviético de los años 40 -
- 06.02.2026 wrote:The replica looks & feels great, very fun to play around with. Feels sturdy, not much rattle.
The bolt handle was a little tight, but was gonna remove the paint anyway. Now its good.
The safety was a little loose, just tightening the little grub screw inside the trigger guard assembly. Easy.
Is was some easy fixing, but maybe the quality control should be a little better.
Shoots realy great, just like the mosin. Cant wait to skirmish with it in my soviet rkka kit -

After two weeks of having it at home, I have to say this gun is absolutely awful. It has an insane number of flaws, and that just makes me build up anger and resentment toward this company.
The gun was delayed for almost three years, and in that amount of time I think it’s more than possible to produce a solid replica. This joke definitely isn’t one. I’ll start with the most basic issue: the gun is fundamentally incapable of shooting straight. I should point out that I’ve had three different units in my hands, and for some mysterious reason all of them suffer from very similar problems. The gun simply doesn’t shoot well.
That might still be acceptable — fine, S&T, I’ll throw in another €200 to turn the replica into something that can at least shoot straight, not 15 cm to the left of the target at 42 meters, at 15°C, using 0.30 g BBs. For such a long rifle, that’s absolutely terrible. A CYMA Sportline shoots better out of the box than this €400 joke.
Another issue is fragility. Taiwangun is LYING in the product description. The only steel parts are the magazines and the barrel shroud — that’s it (tested by me with a quality magnet). I’m not counting things like sling loops. On my rifle, due to completely random tolerances, the dust cover moves on its own. The original 2 mm piece of pot metal, about the size of a sewing needle, obviously snapped off immediately.
What’s especially funny is that the parts that are supposed to move don’t, and that’s the bolt in particular. It simply can’t be pulled back because it rubs against the gearbox. It feels like quality control at the S&T factory simply doesn’t exist, and my gun was made out of rejects.
The manufacturer didn’t even bother to use steel for the buttplate, so if you hit something hard with the stock even slightly, it will 100% crack. Probably the stupidest problem this gun has is the magazine retention. You insert the magazine and lock it with the lever, yet you can still pull it out using moderate force or a light hit. The geniuses at S&T decided to make the entire magazine release lever out of zinc alloy, so it wears down quickly and your magazine starts falling out.
I can’t praise the wooden stock either. It simply doesn’t fit the way it should. The handguard and the stock are made from different types of wood, so if you want to match the color shade and make them look uniform, changing or staining them won’t be easy at all.
My advice on how to improve this? Here it is: I have no problem paying €500 for a replica, but it has to be worth it. And if you want to make replicas — especially WWII-era ones — do it properly. That means using STEEL and proper wood. I could forgive a completely terrible internal setup, but at least make the external build high quality, because internals can always be upgraded — externals never can.
Take inspiration from E&L and their AK platform series. In my opinion, those are the only replicas that are truly worth their price. The idea of making a gun cheaply so it’s accessible to more people is nice, and it probably works, but personally, I would always build it around quality first.
The manufacturer isn’t even capable of supplying spare parts. You break a lever? Forget about buying a replacement. The metal workmanship is atrocious — every single replica is a unique piece in the worst possible way. You might manage to lure kids in with a matte finish, if it were at least applied consistently across all metal parts, but instead you used a standard matte black on the receiver, which looks absolutely tasteless compared to the rest of the gun.
Unfortunately, for someone who has spent over 20 years working in a plastic injection molding factory, seeing ejector pin marks all over the replica is genuinely ugly to look at. If I put this replica in your hands, you would recognize from the very first impression that it was made with a single goal in mind: TO BE AS CHEAP AS POSSIBLE.
However, it probably did achieve what it was meant to achieve: it looks like an SVT-40, and on the wall in my home it will look nice. But I was hoping more for milsim gameplay, together with my 1942 Stalingrad LARP kit. S&T, you disappointed me.

The SVT has a very good range.
For me, it's good for skirmishing right out of the box.
The metal looks very good. The wood is of good quality for an airsoft replica. Taiwangun is offering it at a very good price!
A great addition to my WWII collection! -
- 19.01.2026 wrote:Odpowiedź sklepu:Mixed feelings.
For 375€, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth...
Although adveritsed as standard M4 parts compatible, it's still full of proprietary internals.
BIGGEST COMPLAINT: The assembly job is HORRIBLE. The front sight assembly can rotate 30° side to side, I poked out the rectangular pin with my finger and the grub screw underneat wasn't even tightened.
The entire bottom of the rifle, with the trigger guard rattles SIGNIFICANTLY, soooo annoying.
The heatshield rattles too! The barrel band slides off with minimal pressure ! And I swear i feel something shifting around on the front half when I change targets.
Gun shoots significantly to the right, I think its because the hop up nub/bucking is missaligned.
But hey, its pretty and very unique, will take a lot of work to make mine playable... Most people seem pretty happy with them, mine was probably just assembled by the nightguard, the intern or maybe the secretary...Could you please contact our techs regarding all the aforementioned issues? - 17.01.2026 wrote:I have been waiting for this piece since the original release date, back in June 2025. The SVT-40 has finally arrived and is now in my hands. I have already owned four Mosin replicas from S&T, so this one was simply a must-have for me.
The build quality is very mid (its like cyma), and straight out of the box the replica shoots very well. I am shooting at a human-sized torso target at 50 meters. It shoots noticeably to the left, but I believe a high-quality hop-up rubber will fix this issue.
The only thing that disappoints me is the lack of steel parts. I would gladly pay an extra 50 dollars to have certain components made of steel—specifically the magazine release, the bolt, and the outer barrel. This is the kind of airsoft replica that you are afraid to lend to anyone, because you worry that something might break if it is handled incorrectly.
However, I do understand that the development of such a replica is demanding and time-consuming. In any case, S&T did an excellent job. Realistic markings, authentic field stripping, internal parts compatible with a V2 gearbox, real wood furniture, and a very good metal finish.
That said, it fits perfectly into my collection. Now it is S&T’s turn please deliver an airsoft replica of the Soviet DP-28 machine gun. It is the last missing piece we need.

SVT-40 - A replica based on history
The SVT-40 (Samozaryadny Karabin Tokareva model 1940) is one of the most distinctive semi-automatic rifles used by the Red Army during World War II. Designed by Fyodor Tokarev, it was an ambitious attempt to modernize infantry armament and increase a soldier's effectiveness on the battlefield. The weapon fired the powerful 7.62×54R cartridge and was fed from a 10-round magazine, giving it a significant advantage over traditional bolt-action rifles. The SVT-40 was used by frontline units, and its modern-for-the-time design also attracted the attention of other armies. The rifle was produced in sniper variants and was valued for its high rate of fire and innovative technical solutions. Today, the SVT-40 is considered an important symbol of Soviet wartime engineering and a significant step in the development of semi-automatic firearms of the 20th century, continuing to attract interest from historians and collectors alike.
Reinforced gearbox
The SWT-40 is equipped with a reinforced gearbox. The replica features an adjustable rotary-type hop-up system, located under the mock bolt cover, allowing precise adjustment of the BB's flight trajectory to match game conditions and user preferences.Additionally, the model is equipped with an ETU with a gear position control system, which improves the operation of the mechanism, increasing its durability and smooth performance. An integrated automatic power cut-off system protects the battery from over-discharge - if the voltage drops below 6.0 V, the replica automatically cuts off power, preventing battery damage.
