CM.052 RPK-74, GEN-2 [CYMA]

The CYMA RPK-74 electric airsoft gun is an AEG model replicating the characteristic design of a light machine gun. The CYMA RPK-74 features a CYMA V3 (ZEUS) MOSFET/ETU, wooden stock and handguards, and a steel bipod that facilitates firing from a supported position.

RPK-74 construction

The airsoft gun is made of nylon, aluminium, steel, and wood. The wooden stock and handguards emphasise the characteristic RPK-74 design, while the nylon pistol grip complements its classic configuration.

The outer barrel is made of aluminium. The steel bipod allows the front of the airsoft gun to be supported when firing from a prone position or another available rest.

The well-fitted components support the stability of the construction and reduce noticeable play when handling the airsoft gun. The model is 1075 mm long and weighs ~4150 g without a magazine. An individual serial number is located on the receiver.

As on the firearm counterpart, the receiver features a dovetail side mount. It allows a mounting rail to be installed for attaching an additional sight.

The outer barrel has a 14 mm CCW thread for mounting compatible muzzle devices, dummy sound suppressors, and tracer units.

Ergonomics and power supply

The sling attachment points are positioned similarly to those on the firearm counterpart. One is located on the stock, while the other is placed on the handguard mounting component, allowing the airsoft gun to be carried with a suitable sling.

The battery compartment is located inside the wooden stock. The airsoft gun uses a T-connect connector and is designed for dedicated 7.4 V and 11.1 V LiPo batteries.

Internal components and mechanics

The CYMA RPK-74 uses a V3 gearbox with a quick spring change system located inside the gearbox. The mechanism is based on 18:1 gears, 8 mm ball bearings, and a piston with full steel teeth.

The steel ball-bearing spring guide supports the correct positioning of the spring during operation. The mechanism is powered by a short high-torque neodymium motor.

The pneumatic system consists of a type 0 cylinder, a silent piston and cylinder head set, and a 19.70 mm Teflon nozzle with an O-ring seal.

Electronic system

The CYMA V3 (ZEUS) MOSFET/ETU electronically controls the operation of the mechanism. The airsoft gun achieves a rate of fire of ~20 RPS.

Performance and hop-up system

The factory muzzle velocity of the RPK-74 in the Stock configuration is ~380 FPS. When purchasing the muzzle velocity adjustment service, the airsoft gun can also be ordered in a Medium configuration producing ~350 FPS or a Low configuration producing ~300 FPS.

The brass AEG inner barrel is 640 mm long and has a diameter of 6.03 mm. The metal AK-standard hop-up chamber allows the BB spin and trajectory to be adjusted.
