M733 [Double Bell]

Superbe et légendaire réplique métal et polymer. Design d'origine respecté. Entièrement compatible tant en interne qu’en externe avec la majorité des pièces AEG M4/AR15 du marché. Les internes sont d'excellente qualité, et cela se ressent maintenant chez Double Bell. En revanche, pas de marquages.

The gun definitely worth its price. I was scared that the mechanical side would be the same as the old dboys guns, that existed for 15 years. But actually, it evolves : Lightweight piston with full steel tooth, 21mm aluminium nozzle with o-ring (a bit narrow, it wont fit any cylinder head), aluminium piston head with double o-ring and bearings, QD spring guide with bearings, 8mm bearings, nice cylinder... The only parts that look cheap are the cylinder head and the spring. Still short and strong, it allows for ~420 fps shooting with 0.2g bbs (Chronified at 406 by TWG, and 420 at home after disassembly and reassembly, full stock). I can't tell if the barrel or hopup are good, as i have not enough range to judge. Still, the rubber has three small bulges to improve the sealing. I had some issue with the right side of the gearbox shell : the rotation axis of one of the bearings was not orthogonal to the shell surface, causing some friction bewteen two gears, whatever how was the shiming. I had to modify the housing of the bearing to fix it. It was dirty, but at least, it works. Gears and motor looks fine, but very standard 18:1 ratio, not much torque. Coupled to the strong spring, reactivity is, let's say, average. Front wiring has a fuse, and mini tamiya plug.

From the outside, the gun looks as on the picture from Taiwangun (good job on that point BTW, it is always a pleasure to see this extansive set of pictures). Painting is rather good, not super thick like some old dboys products, rather mat, but still very black. Not many wobbling in the stock, in the handguard, on in upper/lower adjustments. What is a bit disappointing is that the handguard is not the good one (it is the large m4 version, instead of the slim xm177-like model). At least the stock is good. We can regret the lack of engraved marking, but that is better than any fantasy shit. The body pins are effectives, but a bit disgorgeous. Same goes for the outer barrel extansion : its diameter is not perfectly the same as the outer barrel so that you can see that it's a 10.5" barrel + 1" extansion rather than a one pièce 11.5" barrel. The good side of this is that with a 4" m4 barrel extansion, you can easily build a Colt 727.

Note that the lower is modified at its back so that you can access to the QD spring guide just by removing the stock tube. No need anymore to extract the geabox from the receiver.

The conclusion is that this gun is perfect for its price. It works out the box, and can even better with minor upgrades. The only major negative aspect is the issue i had with the bearing misalignment. I won't give it a 5 stars beacause of this, and the few external "inconveniences", but to me, it deserve a 4 out of 5. Because hell yeah, that's a 733 !

Wow what an amazing replica!! However, it should be called model 727, instead of 733, anyway.
Super solid replica. All the metal stuff feels good, there is two hairs stuck I the paint on the upper receiver, but it’s all good, you won’t notice it.
There is also a little mark below the forward assist. I’m assuming someone missed hammering the pin in and hit the receiver. Not a big deal really.
All the plastic furniture is a little cheap ,especially the stock, very wobbly and seems very thin. But I just put some Velcro tap on the buffer tube and boom, no more wobbly stock. I also put two ranger bands on the stock adjustment lever to make it more solid. Works great now.
The hand guards are unfortunately the incorrect thick ones, this is obviously for battery space, but it would’ve been nice with the skinny retro ones… :(
The front sight post is a little wobbly, but I see there is a tiny screw under it, maybe I could tighten it up more. A little frustrating.
That’s about it I think, I unfortunately don’t have a battery, since this is my first AEG. But it should shoot fine. I’ve heard good stuff about these retro double bell guns.
Overall, amazing first experience with and AEG and double bell, would purchase again here at Taiwan gun in the future. It only took 2 days to be delivered here in Denmark. Amazing.
