Licensed MP5 SD6 submachine gun replica from the CYMA Platinum series is an electric AEG replica that recreates the characteristic MP5 SD6 configuration with an extended front end, mock suppressor and three-position retractable stock. The MP5 SD6 submachine gun replica features licensed markings, GEN-2 V2 Gearbox with QSC quick spring change system and Kestrel V2 MOSFET/ETU, supporting convenient handling, replica configuration and fast mechanism operation.

Construction and design

The replica is made of nylon and aluminum. Its weight without the magazine is ~2970 g. The submachine gun is 640 mm long with the stock collapsed and 770 mm long with the stock fully extended.

The characteristic handguard transitions into a mock suppressor, recreating the layout used in the firearm counterpart of the MP5 SD6. The replica is equipped with classic mechanical sights consisting of a diopter rear sight and a front sight with protective ears.

Licensed markings are placed on the trigger housing, magazine well and upper part of the receiver. The individual serial number is located on the magazine well.

Stock and sling attachment points

The retractable stock offers three adjustment positions, allowing the user to adapt the replica length to their preferred stance and gameplay conditions. The stock is finished with a rubber butt pad that supports stable shoulder placement.

Three sling attachment points allow the sling mounting setup to be configured according to the user's equipment and preferred way of carrying the replica.

Controls and hop-up adjustment

The MP5 SD6 replica uses a control layout characteristic of this platform. The magazine release lever is placed in front of the trigger guard, while an additional release button is located between the trigger housing and the magazine well.

The ambidextrous fire selector makes the replica easier to operate with the right or left hand. The charging handle can be locked in the rear position, opening the ejection port and providing easy access to the hop-up chamber adjustment.

Optics mounting

The upper part of the receiver features a mounting interface standard for the MP5 construction, designed for installing a RIS rail mount. It allows stable attachment of compatible red dot sights.

Internal parts and mechanics

The GEN-2 V2 Gearbox in the MP5 version is equipped with the QSC quick spring change system located in the gearbox. The setup uses CNC 13:1 short-stroke gears, 8 mm steel ball bearings and a piston with a full steel rack.

The pneumatic system includes a set of silent aluminum heads, a type 2 steel cylinder and a 21.00 mm Teflon nozzle sealed with an O-ring. The steel spring guide is equipped with bearings.

A long neodymium hi-torque motor drives the mechanism. This configuration allows the replica to reach a rate of fire of ~26 RPS when used with a suitable battery.

Electronic system and power supply

The replica uses a Kestrel V2 MOSFET/ETU system and a T-connect plug. The electronic system controls the mechanism and supports a fast trigger response.

The battery space is located under the handguard.

Performance and precision

The factory muzzle velocity of the replica is ~330 FPS. When purchasing the muzzle velocity adjustment service, a Low configuration reaching ~300 FPS is available.

The brass AEG inner barrel is 225 mm long and has a diameter of 6.03 mm. Combined with an adjustable polymer hop-up chamber, it allows the BB spin to be adjusted to the BB weight and gameplay conditions.
