Daniel Defense DD5 V3 GEN-2 x TG airsoft rifle replica CYMA Platinum is an electric replica based on the licensed Daniel Defense DD5 design, prepared for medium-range airsoft games. The model was developed in cooperation between CYMA and TaiwanGun, using the EMG license, Kestrel V2 electronic system and a V2 long gearbox with a quick spring change system, supporting responsive replica operation, shot parameter configuration and power adjustment to game limits. The construction combines metal and polymer build with a reproduction of characteristic Daniel Defense DD5 V3 elements.

Construction and design

Daniel Defense DD5 V3 GEN-2 is a licensed airsoft rifle replica with markings placed on the upper receiver, lower receiver, charging handle assembly and handguard. The serial number is located on the left side of the lower receiver, supporting identification of the specific unit.

The replica uses licensed Daniel Defense components, including the GRIP-N-RIP AR-10 Ambi charging handle assembly, Daniel Defense stock and Daniel Defense Pistol Grip with Soft Touch overmolding, Daniel Defense DD5 Rail 15.0 M-Lok handguard and Daniel Defense Mil-Spec trigger.

The construction is made of metal and polymer. Aluminum components include the front grip, compensator, upper receiver and lower receiver, supporting the rigidity of the external construction and stable fitment of components.

Ergonomics and handling

The polymer Daniel Defense stock and pistol grip with Soft Touch overmolding support more secure handling of the replica when aiming.

The Daniel Defense DD5 Rail 15.0 M-Lok handguard allows the front section of the replica to be configured with accessories mounted in the M-Lok standard. The 14 mm CCW thread on the outer barrel enables the installation of compatible muzzle devices.

Internal parts and mechanics

The replica uses a V2 long gearbox based on steel SR25 gears and 8 mm ball bearings. The mechanical system supports the GEN-2 configuration, while the quick spring change system located in the replica makes it easier to adjust power to game requirements.

Inside, the replica uses a piston with a full steel tooth rack and aluminum piston head, an aluminum cylinder head, a steel full SR25 cylinder and a 24.28 mm Teflon nozzle. The steel bearing spring guide supports stable spring operation during the firing cycle.

The drive system uses a long hi-torque motor with neodymium magnets. This configuration supports efficient system operation when using a properly selected battery.

Electronic system

Daniel Defense DD5 V3 GEN-2 is equipped with the Kestrel V2 electronic system. The ETU controls the operation of the replica's electrical system and supports faster trigger response as well as protection of electrical components.

The replica operates in single fire mode.

Performance and precision

The factory FPS of the replica is ~380 FPS. The brass inner barrel has a diameter of 6.03 mm and a length of 430 mm, supporting shot consistency and a stable BB trajectory.

The metal rotary hop-up chamber is responsible for BB backspin adjustment. This construction allows convenient adjustment of the hop-up system for the BB weight used.

Power supply

The replica uses a T-connect plug, and the battery space is located in the stock tube.
