      I recently had an airsoft game, and after firing just one mid-cap magazine, I switched to another mag and the gun suddenly locked up and skipped. Right after that, I realized the gears in the gearbox were completely stripped/destroyed.

      I was using the recommended 11.1V battery, playing normally, not spamming full auto or anything extreme, and honestly, I didn’t expect such a failure to happen so quickly, especially after only about a magazine and a half of use during a regular game. I’m very disappointed with the durability, especially considering it happened during a game and with recommended setup. I really expected better performance and reliability.

      Externally, it resembles the Cyma, the receiver, the fire selector lever, and the dust cover are steel, everything else is pot metal, but much thicker castings than the Cyma. This is good for durability, but not lifelike and not compatible with other makes.
      The hopup is also a metal chamber similar to Cyma, but with a Boyi/Double Bell support and a plastic sliding block, the gearbox is a good middle category, the first hanger of the magazines is plastic, but they are hi-caps so no one uses them anyway.
      The mosfet is a good thing, you don't have to buy it separately and suck with the installation, but actually I haven't had a fire switch burn out since 2003.

An airsoft AEG AKM assault rifle made by S&T Armament (Smart Team). A realistic version of the modernized AK with a steel receiver, a real wood handguard, and fixed stock. Powered by a 3rd generation gearbox that consists of quick change spring system and an integrated MOSFET.

Durable and extensible airsoft gun

Advantages of this model are the durable structure and good fitting of elements. It's the signature of all S&T Armament products. The AKM airsoft rifle is made mostly of steel and aluminum. The stamped steel receiver is equipped with a side-rail. You can attach on it optics dedicated to AK rifles or dovetail mounts. It is also compatible with tactical accessories from manufacturers such as CYMA and 5KU. Standard wooden elements such as a handguard, a stock, and a polymer grip can be replaced with modernized parts. The steel receiver cover can be replaced with one equipped with a Picatinny mount rail. Flash hider can be replaced by a silencer or a tracer unit for glow-in-the-dark BBs.

S&T AKMN is powered by reinforced V3 gearbox

The AEG AKM is equipped with the reinforced V3 gearbox by S&T Armament. The quick spring change system allows you to adjust the rifle's power to the conditions of the airsoft game. You do not need to open the whole gearbox. The important feature is the integrated MOSFET. Equipped with over-discharge protection by cut-off function. And an electric trigger with a magnetic sensor to improve responsiveness. The gearbox is compatible with upgrade parts from other airsoft producers. GB is ready to work with LiPo 11.1V batteries.

Stick-type battery

The place for stick-type battery is under the receiver cover.
