The CM.048S GEN-2 airsoft rifle by CYMA is an electric AEG based on the AKMS design, combining steel external components, a folding stock, and classic wooden furniture. The model features a V3 gearbox with a Quick Spring Change (QSC) system, a CYMA V3 MOSFET, and a short-type high-torque motor with neodymium magnets, supporting efficient mechanical operation and trigger response.

Construction and design

The CM.048S GEN-2 replica reproduces the distinctive silhouette of the AKMS rifle, featuring a steel underfolding stock. This design allows the overall length of the replica to be reduced, making transportation and handling in confined spaces easier.

The receiver, stock, flash hider, receiver cover, and gas tube are made of steel. Other external components, including the outer barrel, front sight base, gas block, rear sight base, handguard retainer, cleaning rod, and sights, are made of metal.

The handguard and gas tube cover are made of laminated wood, emphasizing the classic appearance of the AKMS design. The pistol grip is made of durable nylon, while the magazine is made of metal.

The replica features an individual serial number located on the receiver.

Internal components and mechanics

The replica features a V3 gearbox equipped with 8 mm steel ball bearings. The internal configuration includes a piston with a full metal tooth rack and a short-type high-torque motor with neodymium magnets, supporting responsive trigger operation.

The pneumatic system uses a Type 0 cylinder and a 19.60 mm polymer nozzle equipped with an O-ring seal. The silent pneumatic set supports smoother mechanical operation, while the bearing-mounted metal spring guide supports spring movement during the firing cycle.

The gearbox also features a Quick Spring Change (QSC) system, allowing the main spring to be replaced without opening the gearbox shell.
To access the QSC system, the gearbox must first be removed from the replica's receiver. Once removed, the spring can be replaced without opening the gearbox shell, making it easier to adjust the replica's power configuration to meet the requirements of different airsoft games.

Electronic system

The CM.048S GEN-2 features a CYMA V3 MOSFET, responsible for controlling the operation of the replica's electrical system.

The model features a brass AEG inner barrel measuring 450 mm in length and 6.04 mm in diameter, supporting shot-to-shot consistency and a stable BB trajectory.

The metal AK-type hop-up chamber allows adjustment of BB backspin, enabling the user to adapt the BB trajectory to shooting conditions.

The outer barrel features a 14 mm CCW thread, allowing the installation of compatible muzzle devices.

Power supply

The replica uses a T-connect connector and is compatible with 7.4V and 11.1V LiPo batteries.

The battery is housed under the receiver cover.
