Transport case for a drone or camera by 8Fields is designed for safe carrying and storage of photographic equipment, optics, electronics, and accessories that require additional protection during transport. The construction made from fiber-reinforced polypropylene, equipped with a 3-layer PU foam insert and an automatic pressure equalization valve, supports equipment use in demanding field, travel, and storage conditions.

Construction and design

The case body is made from fiber-reinforced polypropylene (PP), combining mechanical resistance with a relatively low construction weight. The rigid hard case shell supports protection of carried equipment against pressure, impacts, dust, sand, and dirt.

The case features an IP67 protection rating, confirming protection against dust ingress and protection against the effects of short-term immersion in water up to a depth of 1 m. The construction uses a rubber O-ring seal, which helps limit moisture ingress into the interior of the case.

The model is resistant to UV radiation, solvents, corrosion, and fungus. The shell has been designed as a stackable construction, making it easier to store multiple cases one on top of another.

The case is equipped with two polypropylene latches, stainless steel mounting elements, and a padlock hole. Compliance with the TSA standard supports safe use of the case during travel.

The automatic pressure equalization valve allows compensation for pressure differences caused by changes in altitude or temperature. This function makes the case easier to open after travel and supports the tightness of the construction.

Ergonomics and handling

The model is equipped with a comfortable handle with a rubber overlay, improving grip when carrying the case with equipment inside. The compact format works well for transporting photographic equipment, electronics, tools, optics, technical parts, and accessories that require stable protection.

The interior of the case measures 444.7 × 345.8 × 190 mm and has a capacity of ~19 l. The lid depth is 47 mm, while the bottom section depth is 143 mm, giving a total internal depth of 190 mm.

The foam insert consists of 3 layers and allows the internal space to be adjusted to the shape of the carried equipment. This solution supports content stabilization and limits movement during transport.

The operating temperature range is from -40°C to 90°C, allowing the case to be used in varied environmental conditions.

The weight of the empty case is ~4.45 kg, while the weight with foam is ~4.9 kg.
