RPK CUSTOM [TGC]

After more than a decade, we are returning to high-end CUSTOM replica projects. More than two years spent sourcing original RPK parts, individually fitting components with the support of experienced gunsmiths, and paying attention to even the smallest details have allowed us to create an exceptional replica that reproduces the character of its real-steel counterpart as faithfully as possible. Authentic Soviet components, steel construction, original wooden furniture, and the modern CYMA PLATINUM GEN2 gearbox combine historical realism with the performance of modern airsoft technology.

Original RPK Parts, History Preserved in Every Detail

For this project, we collected original parts, listed here starting from the muzzle: muzzle device, front sight base with front sight, bipod, cleaning rod retaining ring with sling loop, gas block, rear sight base with gas tube connector, rear sight leaf, lower handguard, gas tube with upper handguard, barrel trunnion, trigger mechanism pins, fire selector, rear trunnion, trigger guard with magazine catch, receiver top cover, bolt carrier with gas piston, recoil spring assembly, and cleaning rod. We also obtained a complete set of original wooden furniture: lower handguard, upper gas tube handguard, and stock.

Individually Adapted Components, Precision Craftsmanship

Most of these parts required appropriate modifications, as they could not be used in the replica in their original form. For example, the receiver top cover was made from two original covers, which were carefully cut and precisely joined together to fit our construction. The bolt carrier and recoil spring assembly were suitably modified and adapted to the replica, while only the external shell of the rear trunnion was used. The stock itself was hollowed out internally to accommodate the battery without any difficulty. All these modifications are presented in detail in the photographs.

Steel Construction, Maximum Fidelity to the Real-Steel Original

To reproduce the original as faithfully as possible, the steel outer barrel was manufactured while maintaining the external dimensions of its real-steel counterpart. A replica receiver shell was also specially manufactured for our project, reproducing the external shape of the original RPK receiver. Internal components and guide rails were deliberately omitted, as the intention was to create a non-functional receiver shell that would not constitute an essential firearm component under the Polish Firearms and Ammunition Act. Additionally, the receiver shell was extended by 0.5 cm compared to the original to accommodate the replica's internal drive mechanism.

Gunsmith Craftsmanship, Experience That Mass Production Cannot Replace

Thanks to the professional support of retired gunsmiths, our CUSTOM was assembled using standards and an approach familiar from working with real firearms. This is an exceptional approach in the world of airsoft replicas.

Authentic RPK Construction, Steel Connections and No Unnecessary Play

All components mounted on the barrel, including the rear sight base, gas block, cleaning rod retaining ring with sling loop, and front sight base, were precisely fitted to the outer barrel and then permanently secured. The components of the replica receiver shell were joined using steel rivets, just like on the original firearm. As a result, the entire replica forms a rigid, solid construction with no creaking or unnecessary play between components.

Original Markings from the Tula Factory - Soviet Heritage

The barrel trunnion bearing original markings and serial numbers, originating from the State Arms Factory in Tula (Soviet Union), along with the rear trunnion and trigger guard, was adapted and permanently attached to the replica receiver shell. Fire selector markings were applied to its surface: “??" for semi-automatic fire and “??" for fully automatic fire. At the locations corresponding to the trigger mechanism mounting holes, previously prepared ends of the original mechanism pins were installed, as shown in the photographs.

Matching Serial Numbers, Authenticity Down to the Smallest Detail

Our CUSTOM retains the serial numbers found on the original barrel trunnion. To ensure complete consistency throughout the project, the same numbers were also applied, in accordance with the original design, to the rear sight leaf, receiver top cover, bolt carrier, recoil spring assembly, and gas tube. This gives the replica a truly individual character. After all, every “soldier" should know the serial number of their service weapon, right?

Sandblasting and Painting, A Finish Inspired by the Original

To preserve the highest possible level of fidelity to the real-steel original, the prepared replica underwent a sandblasting process, followed by painting. Our goal was not only to achieve the appropriate appearance but, above all, to create a finish that reflects the rugged, military character of the original RPK. As a result, the steel components form a visually consistent construction that perfectly complements the original wooden furniture. This is another detail that highlights the authenticity of the project and distinguishes our CUSTOM from standard, mass-produced airsoft replicas.

Realistic Charging Action, Experience the Character of a Real RPK

The original bolt carrier and recoil spring assembly deserve particular attention. After appropriate modifications, these components were installed in our CUSTOM. Thanks to them, the replica is exceptionally well-balanced, while the movement of the bolt carrier and the distinctive sound of charging the weapon bring a smile to the face of everyone who has had the opportunity to hold it.

Original RPK Magazine - Historical Appearance, 140 BB Capacity

The finishing touch to the entire project is a unique, original 40-round magazine designed for RPK rifles. After appropriate modifications, a mid-cap mechanism with a capacity of 140 BBs was installed inside it.

PLATINUM GEN2 Gearbox, Modern Performance in a Historical Construction

At the heart of the replica is the reinforced CYMA PLATINUM GEN2 V3 gearbox, designed for intensive use and high durability. Its robust shell features improved bearing seats and rounded edges in areas particularly exposed to stress, helping to reduce the risk of cracking and increasing the overall strength of the mechanism.

The efficiency of the pneumatic system is ensured by precision CNC-machined components, including a reinforced silent piston head, a reinforced silent cylinder head, and a CNC-machined Teflon nozzle with enhanced air sealing. The assembly is complemented by a piston with a full steel tooth rack, designed to withstand increased loads.

Power transmission is handled by a set of CNC-machined steel gears with a 13:1 or 18:1 ratio, selected according to the chosen power configuration of the replica. The mechanism operates on 8 mm steel ball bearings, ensuring smooth and efficient operation of the entire system.

The replica is also equipped with a Flat Hop Hop-Up system, using a specially selected bucking and a design that provides more even contact with the BB. This helps achieve more stable BB backspin, a more consistent flight trajectory, and improved shooting accuracy, particularly at longer distances.

Another advantage is the QSC (Quick Spring Change) system integrated into the gearbox, allowing the spring to be replaced without disassembling the gearbox. This solution significantly simplifies maintenance and makes it possible to adjust the replica's muzzle velocity to the user's individual preferences and the requirements of different airsoft fields.
