Urban Assault Rifle - Tan [APS]

I did my research on this gun before I bought it. I expected to need to make some modifications to get it working as I would like it. However, out of the box, this gun did not have any of the short comings that have been mentioned in other reviews. I have yet to get it out on the field but my impression from shooting in the backyard is very good.

Pros:
-Unique design (not based on real steel gun)
-It fed perfectly fine from every M4 High-cap I own, despite some of them being very wobbly in the mag-well (G&G metal mag was all over the place but didn't have trouble feeding anyway).
-Raised rail on top, so no riser required to be able to sight in while wearing my mask.
-Very solid construction.
-No glue on the flash hider.
-Easy Disassembly, 3 pins and a set screw on the flash hider.
-Comes with one QD ring and has 3 attach points (one on a side rail, allowing you to swap sides for the front end).
-Fully Ambidextrous.
-High performance to Price.

Cons:
-Small battery compartment, had to get a smaller Lipo than I already had to ensure it would fit.
-Comes wired with Small Tamiya.
-Typical Bullpup trigger (not as bad as expected).

Very cheap platform to build upon. APS has resolved a lot of the earlier issues with the UAR such as magazine compatibillity. They now come ready to use with mid caps out of the box. Fitment can be optimized with some velcro depending on brand of choice.

The 3 and 9 o'clock rails have been replaced with keymod slots which adds for further customizability.

The thread on the outer barrel is slightly off-spec due to excessive paint but can fairly easily be worn in. One body-pin was missing on mine when I got it which was quickly replaced by TWG after contacting them. Kudos!

It IS very plastic-y which is to be expected given the price. Quality control seems... meh on APS side regarding the exterior as the barrel base was disfigured and didn't allow for the outer barrel to sit straight. This was easily fixed with a multitool.

Gearbox and internals are solid! Quick change is always very welcome. Add a mosfet to the gun and it should last you a long while before having to replace anything. The motor is, however, very weak.

Hop-up unit is of surprising quality. I added a maple leaf MR with omega nub and am getting great results. NOTE! To fit most aftermarket rubbers you will need to lightly sand the feep lips or the gun will misfeed a lot.

I would have given it 3 stars if it cost more, but given the price you do get a very fun gun to work with. I would NOT recommend this as a starter gun despite its price simply since there are very many minor things that you would need some experience to know how to fix.

Great replica, use for both hands left or right everything in operation button for changing the magazine, select switch for fire mode and also can change the place of the charging handle both sides,the replica feeds with m4 magazine wich is great because the m4 magazines are so many as brands and types and colours, big advantage is the quick spring change no need to disassembly all parts just the buttstock and easy access to the gearbox also in the package comes with three types of springs different power...i add to my personal replica a silencer it's look awesome and a holo for the aiming the replica is very silent and light

Don't get the bundle with the Li-Po 1800mAh 7,4V 20/40C [8FIELDS] !!!

It's just a few mm too wide for the stock and I had to cut a chunk of the black bit for the cables to fit.

Apart from that the replica is great.

The UAR they sell on Taiwangun is a Gen 2, which is important, cause gen 1 doesn't take midcaps.
The rifle is sturdy and feels solid.
Out of the box, it shoots pretty well for its price. The Trigger pull is a bit deep, but that is very common on Bullpup riffles anyways, and the trigger on the UAR, is not as hard as the one on the FN2000.
The gun is light, and very maneuverable.
At first, I managed to get the bolt cover stuck, until I found out, that the release button for the bolt catch, is on the top of the gun (A small logo platform)

All in all, it is a very nice gun. If you want a bullpup Riffel for an HPA system, like the Polarstar F2, this one is the one to go.

even straight out of the box, this gun is downright amazing, I almost wish that others would get this gun, until I realise at the moment I have an advantage!!

any M4 mags work with this gun, shoots straight and long, I can personally say over the 30-40m distance this is almost as accurate as most snipers out there. now I have added a good scope with magnifier, this gun is almost all you need for a damn good day of airsoft.

My only gripe is that very occasionally, the gun seems to jam, but a quick flip to full auto and back again sorts this issue out straight away.
